| With a name like Tony Starr's Kitten Club, you could easily mistake this bar for some kind of politically incorrect men's club - but you'd be wrong. Behind its lurid green door, you'll climb a steep staircase and emerge into a bustling bar and restaurant. A mostly nine-to-five office crowd can be found here, tucking into a variety of snacks, or absorbed in conversation on small Japanese-style cushioned stools. If you don't like waiting for service at the bar, just head upstairs. The second level is often less crowded - and is home to the Kitten Club's two best features, the Galaxy Space and the Love Lounge. The Galaxy Space is a small intimate performance area that hosts everything from jazz and swing, to cabaret, film, comedy and theatre. There are plenty of black slim-line leather couches to lean back on while you sip your martini and enjoy the show. But for an intimate chat, slide through the dangling beaded entrance to the enchanting Love Lounge. Inside is a sea of sexy, deep red and pink-striped fabric interiors where couples can seek out a private nook to nestle in.
